Wow – Esther is like a Cinderella story? I see *some* similarity – the woman from the recently-conquered minority becomes Queen – but it’s hardly romantic as depicted in the movies.
* The Queen enters the king’s throne room without permission
* The King responds by
* * imprisoning her for the rest of her life
* * ordering his officials to round up all of the beautiful upper-class virgins
* The King then takes each virgin in turn – one at a time, one per night
* When finished road-testing all of his virgins, he decides that he likes Esther best
* Esther gets promoted to Queen – which means that he children get to inherit the throne and that she gets to run the seraglio (that is, she gets to keep all of the other women that the king boinks in line)
* As a consequence of her newly-gained influence with the King, Esther is able to save her people from genocide (which really is a great thing)
Personally, I just don’t find the way that Esther was treated to be very "Cinderella-like". Indeed, it’s hardly better than David treated Bathsheba (ordered his soldiers to bring her to him – not to ask her if she would **like** to play house with the King….)

2 Kings
2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
Abraham going to sacrafice his son.
i guess when god commanded david or whoever to kill people. that was soooo awesome.
All of the ones that mention Jesus.
Prodigal son is the most important story in the bible.
It proves that all of the rest of it is false.
